Cover Reveal: Little Grey Cells – A Jessica Sinclair Mystery

Dear All

It’s been a busy few months at writer HQ as I knuckled down to the hard and, at times, downright depressing business of getting my next book ready for publication. But the hard work has been done, the editing and proofing process is complete, and as the sun comes out and spring has sprung, it’s time for the fun part to begin!

Starting with a cover reveal! Welcome to the next book in The Jessica Sinclair Mystery Series, Little Grey Cells, out on 2nd June 2026. You can find out more about this next instalment here – and if it tickles your fancy, please feel free to pre-order a copy online, currently e-book is available, but paperback should follow in a week or two from now. Pre-orders largely dictate the enthusiasm that the algorithm has for any given product, so it’s not just vanity that I’m asking. It can really help to boost the book beyond my current audience, so do think about buying a copy before June if you’re able.

Now the grind of editing and proofing is over, the fun begins, starting at the Bournemouth Writing Festival where I’m going to be running a workshop on Sunday 26th April. FUN FACT: I am having surgery on my shoulder on 21st April. So anyone who wants to see me try and present with my right arm in a sling, please come along. I hope the workshop will be enlightening but at the very least it will be entertaining!

Here’s my picks based on last month’s reading, listening and watching. Have a super April!

WHAT I’M READING THIS MONTH Lots of writer pals are publishing this month, and I have them all on my TBR pile. However, my fellow Comedy Women in Print author Kathleen Whyman was first on the list, with her new mid-life crisis book The Mother Of All Comebacks.

Great for that cuppa in the sunshine, Katheen’s book is a bright and breezy, entertaining read that captures the very real sense of identity loss that comes with an empty nest, middle age and caretaking elderly parents without ever dragging the reader into an abyss of despair at growing older! There is life after 45, ladies!

WHAT I’M WATCHING THIS MONTH The past few months has seen a host of new TV shows hit the screens. I’ve really enjoyed Shrinking, Harrison Ford is a genius and the Les Mis car scene deserves high praise for comedic brilliance… but my favourite watch of the past month has to be Paradise S2, which was frankly brilliant. It’s true I’m a sucker for an action thriller/dystopian sci fi and it won’t be everyone’s cuppa but I REALLY like this series. It’s right up there with the early series of For All Mankind, for those who liked that one… (the less said about the current season, the better). I worry (as I always do with sci fi series) they are about to tie themselves in knots for S3 and go full ‘Lost’ but time will tell. Haha. (In joke).

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS MONTH Just about everything except my shoulder operation!

AND FINALLY … Kiss, Marry, Murder will be on sale as of 1st May on Kindle, to encourage readers who haven’t yet read the first book in the Jessica Sinclair Series to get going before the second one hits the shelves! If you happen to know anyone who’d enjoy it – or indeed, if you’ve yet to partake in Jess’s adventures, perhaps I can tempt you with a bargain!

Have a sunny, sparky rest of the month

Faye x
